Accused made victim's life hell

THE mother of a 12-year-old girl abused by Omagh head teacher Dominic McElholm has said the defendant had stolen her youth and made her daughter's life hell. The mother said the girl, who is now studying for her GCSEs, has been emotionally scarred by the incident and the family are hoping she will be able to move on with her life. As the trial was about to begin against 70-year-old McElholm, he entered a plea of guilty to indecently assaulting a young girl. He was sentenced to six months in prison suspended for three years after the hearing...

Rigged results fury

FLAGRANT match-fixing is making a mockery of the relegation battle during the closing weeks of the All-County League, a leading Tyrone County Board official has told the the Ulster Herald.
