On Friday night Glenelly booked their place in the semi-finals of the Reserve Champtionship with a confincing win over Dregish. This match being a replay, as last week the match ended in a draw 1-6 to 1-6
Glenelly had to travel to Dregish to complete this 1/4 final match, Glenelly weakened through injury and other commitments had shown great character in the first half. Dregish had a spell of 10minutes with proved to be the only 10 minute spell they got in the whole match, but not punishing this Glenelly side, Glenelly were slow to start but points from Jonhny Mc Cullagh and Geard Conway kept Glenelly within touching distance at the end of the half. With a few minutes remaining the joint effords of Leon Bradley and Paul Mc Cullagh Glenelly sneaked a goal. This proving to be the turning point.
In the second half Glenelly didn'tl ook back, Dregish failed to register a score in the second half which sent Glenelly off to the semi-finals.
Final score 1-8 to 0-4 |
