Glenelly suffered their first defeat of the season at the hands of Urney. Played in dire conditions, Glenelly never got going in the first half and this led to a poor team display.

The defence performed well enough under huge pressure particularly Liam Nicholas and Michael Hicks. However the forward line failed to function. This was evident in the half time score line of, Urney 0-5 Glenelly 0-2

However in the second half Glenelly returned a completely different team. The forward line showed better and this was reflected in their shooting as they added seven further scores without reply. The bulk of these scores came Simon Cairns, Kevin Mc Anena and Conal Mc Cullagh. Just when Glenelly looked to have got a foothold in the match, Urney came storming back in the final ten minutes. A lack of discipline at the back contributed to silly frees being awarded which the Urney free-taker expertly stroked over the bar.

Glenelly were defeated on a score line of 0-11 to 0-9. The team performance for most of the match left a lot to be desired. However despite only performing for 20 minutes the end result was close. The boys in their next match against Strabane require a greater commitment and better attitude.

The club wishes a speedy recovery to Steven Mc Gill of Urney following his injury.
