Tattreagh Reserves proved to strong for this developing Glenelly team. Tattyreagh started off the better team but Glenelly crept back into the game in the second half
Glenelly went out on Saturday evening to try and gain the first two points of the season. Tattreagh were to travel to Plumbridge for a 4:30pm throw-in.
Starting with Reserves, Tattyreagh started of the brighter side, hitting a goal in the first five minutes. This didn’t dampen Glenelly’s sprits though. It took Glenelly 20 minutes to get into the game and by this time the Tatts had notched up a strong lead. Glenelly’s Ronan O’Kane proved the star forward converting most of the free-kicks with help of fellow corner forward Seamus Kirk. Barry Mc Cullagh had a stormer of a game. Liam Molloy was Glenelly’s savior on the day after saving a first half plenty, the second time this season. This lifted Glenelly players. Glenelly started cleaning up around mid-field on several occasions. At half-time it looked like there was no hope for Glenelly but soon after the break Glenelly’s Brain Conway hit home an amazing point to lift his teams sprits. Although Glenelly were now registering scores Tattreagh kept on going and kept Glenelly team at bay. Some hard work paid of when Conway hit home a goal to put some life back into the game. Glenelly started of weak in the first half but was the better team in the second half. Glenelly lads travel to Brackavile next weekend. |
