Glenelly Seniors don't seem to have much luck this year getting beat by teams by several points. Glenelly lost out to Brocagh on Sunday when they fielded an under strength team.

Glenelly's problems started before the season started when several key players were lost due to injury. Not long into the season Glenelly players were carrying suspensions which again weakened the team. None of these factors have deterred this developing team and they keep on trying.

Travelling to the Lough Shore wasn't going to be an easy task but it looked like Glenelly were going to clinch victory. In the first half Glenelly displayed some brilliant acts of football with Conal Mc Cullagh being unlucky not to score on several occasions. Brocagh started of the better team and while it took Glenelly 10 minutes to get started. Once they did the crowd were wondering whether this was going to be the game they break the deadlock. Brocagh were awarded a controversial penalty late in the first half and keeper Fergal Linsday tried to deny Brocagh but the ball flicked of his fingers and in. Minutes later Glenelly responded with a goal. The goal came from a long ball and corner forward Ronan O’Kane scuffled the ball into the back of the net. At half time the both teams were equal.

At the beginning of the second half the both teams were popping over points but Brocagh started pulling away 20 minutes in. Although Glenelly forward line pulled some marvellous scores it wasn’t to be enough. Again Brocagh was awarded a penalty for what should have been a free out but this time keeper Lindsay flicked the ball over the bar. Lindsay was pulling of some great saves to keep Glenelly in the game but unfortunately wasn’t enough.

Glenelly travel to Derytresk on Saturday evening.
