Glenelly Under 16's show they can play football with a powerful preformance to over come Beragh on Wednesday Night.
Wednesday night seen something spectacular for the under 16 boys. Starting to show some form on recent performances Glenelly over came a strong Beragh side. Beragh travelled to Plumbridge a few weeks ago and annihilated Glenelly on their own pitch so the lads had something to prove. Travelling to Beragh wasn’t going to be nice but the weather conditions made the situation worse. Glenelly went out in the first half all guns blazing. They really took the game to this powerful Beragh side. The half back, midfielders and half forwards ran and ran, with this support Glenelly found it easy to notch up some devastating scores. Beragh could only reply with points. Near the end of the first half Glenelly fell in to a deep sleep which give Beragh a lifeline for the second half. After a long team discussion Glenelly were rearing to go again. The half forwards in wining the break ball with Kevin Mc Cullagh proving inspirational for this Glenelly team. Ryan Finaly was keeping the defence on its toes while Noel O’Kane worked hard to keep his man under control. Glenelly notched up a few more scores with Beragh replying with a point here and there. Ciaran Mc Connell helped Jamie Allen keep out the scores by swooping up the ball at full back were Tim Harney strength proved a crucial factor in his 1-2 tally. Over all this Glenelly team has dramatically changed from the last time they play Beragh. |
