After a thrilling game of football the Under 16 boys progress to the Semi Finals of the Championship after defeating top of the table Brackiville.

The Under 16 Championship quarter finals took place on Saturday afternoon. Top of the section Brackiville travelled to Glenelly to try and secure a place in the Semi –Final.

Brackiville arrived nearly an hour before throw - in and went out and did an extensive warm up. The Glenelly team followed their usual routine before a match. This match was set to be a difficult game for Glenelly. Brackiville showed why they are sitting at the top of the table playing some great football. Glenelly were on form with Kevin Mc Cullagh converting free kicks to give the home side the advantage. A tight exciting game of football seem some spectacular scores from both teams. Brackiville gave away a plenty which Glenelly failed to convert.

In the second half Brackiville went at Glenelly all guns blazing but this strong and skilful Glenelly side worked hard and conceded few scores while converting most attacks. Their work rate was rewarded when they got a goal after disposing Brackivile in their full back line.

Glenelly deserved the victory on the day and all the best to them in the Semi’s
