It was a game which Glenelly needed to win. Although they would not move any places in the league table it was more about respect. Glenelly certainly proved themselves when they played well to easily overcome Brocagh.

Glenelly easily disposed of Brocagh on Sunday evening. The weakness of the Brocagh camp was evident by them not fielding a Reserve Team. Therefore Glenelly got the points. Glenelly started of very well, all cylinders blazing. Brocagh couldn’t keep up with the intensity of the game giving Glenelly easy frees in front of the goals after sloppy tackling. Glenelly punished Brocagh every time they tiredly fouled them in front of the goals. Brocagh weren’t out of the game , a few free kicks from Glenellys mistakes kept them within reaching distance. Glenelly kept on running at Brocagh, this they couldn’t handle so Glenelly’s lead increased. In the second half it looked like Brocagh could be on for a come back but when Micheal Hicks found the net this wasn’t the case. Brocagh found themselves playing with thirteen men. Glenelly went on to take the game out of reach with Eunan Linsday being the key to many of Glenelly’s successful attacks, Linsday busted the net in the dieing minutes to be greeted with a roar from the crowd. Glenelly now go on to play Derrytresk next Satuday evening away. Good luck!!
