An early start for the Omagh Ladies who had to travel down to Plumbridge this morning to play in the league.

. Glenelly are the clear favourites to capture the Intermediate League. It was a wet and windy day in Plumbridge which sometimes made the conditions hard to play in but the both teams did their best. Glenelly started of shaky but soon found their feet after a wonderfully struck goal by Nicola Sheerin. This was followed by a string of scores from the Glenelly side.

Omagh replied well with a goal and a point within a short time period but this didn’t effect this Glenelly team who pushed on to take the game out of Omagh’s reach. Glenelly’s Aisling O’Kane struck home on a few occasion widening the margin. The two Dooher sisters, Anne and Carol played well together creating many scoring opportunities for Glenelly.

The second half seen a revived Omagh team who went all guns blazing. It looked like a come back was on after Omagh full forward struck home a goal and then a succession of points followed. This didn’t seem to upset the Glenelly team who stayed focused and composed. Omagh then scored another goal and within one minute Glenelly had went up the field and replied wonderfully with an O’Kane goal. This started of another stream of Glenelly attacks. The match was out of Omagh’s reach at this stage but fair dues to them they battled well to finish the game of strong.
