The Ladies completed the double on Sunday afternoon after beating Loughmacory in Plumbridge. All the ladies and their managers have done the club proud!!

After a tricky start Glenelly found themselves with a comfortable lead, but not for long. Loughmacory upped the tempo and created some beautiful scores which got Glenelly worries. But with the work of Anna Mc Cullagh and Niamh Linsday in the back line things were kept tight. Lisa Mc Cullagh played around midfield and swooped up the breaking ball, with her strength and accuracy created some fine scores from the likes of Aisling O’Kane.

It never really looked like Glenelly were going to lose this game as every time Loughmacory scored Glenelly would go down and do the same. Loughmacory made a tactical switch in the  last quarter which caused a bit of a shake up for Glenelly. Loughmacory’s keeper moved from guarding the goals to scoring the goals with a tally of three goals within a short period of time. But Glenelly didn’t worry when Fiona Marie Kearney received a sweet pass and knocked the ball to the back of the net followed my Aisling O’Kane hammering the ball to the back of the net.

After the game Glenelly Vice Captain was presented with the shield.
