In last weeks notes you were told that Niamh Murphy qualified to play in the All Ireland Under 15 Girls Doubles Semi-Finals along with Nicole Loughran from the Carrickmore Club. After two games nothing separated the girls from those of Longford but in a tie breaker the Longford girls progressed to the Final with the narrowest margin of 11-8. The club would like to congratulate Niamh on this wonderful achievement and wish her the best of luck in the future.

The committee, players and members of Glenelly GFC deeply regret the death of our esteemed committee member, Patrick Cairns, and extend deepest sympathy to his beloved wife, Siobhan, and his sons, playing members Matthew, Simon and Joseph. Mary Queen of the Gael pray for him.

The committee, players and members of Glenelly GFC also offer their deepest sympathies to our Honorary
President, Dolores McAnena, and playing members Kevin and Denise, on the death of Dolores’ father.

The pitch is being used every night now for either matches or training. On Friday night the Under 14 boys will play Omagh B at 7pm with all players to be at the pitch for 6:15pm.

The next morning, Saturday the Under 14 girls will entertain Clan Na nGael with a 11:30am throw-in. Moving on to Saturday afternoon Dregish will be the visitors with a 4:30pm and 6pm throw-in time for Reserves and Seniors respectively.

On that the Seniors and Reserves both recorded wins on Sunday with the Reserves beating neighbours Owen Roes 4-3 to 0-8 and the Seniors following the winning trend with a 1-10 to 0-9 victory.

The next Men’s committee meeting will be held on Monday night at 8pm.
