On Friday evening Glenelly were hosts to a Beragh side which are ‘red’ hot favourites to gain promotion this year.  Glenelly meet Beragh in four weeks time in the Championship. A crucial match for both teams seen Glenelly come out on top with some fine shooting by Cahal Nicholas.

The visitors started of well with Dan Boyle being there main man up front converting all their free kicks Beragh seeming not to miss their star man Mickey Ward. Soon into the first half Glenelly were awarded a penalty which Seamus Harkin converted with ease to give Glenelly the lead. Further points by Dan Boyle kept Beragh in the game with Cahal Nicholas on form twice for the home team. Going in to the changing rooms at half time all was square with Glenelly scores tallying up to 1-3 to Beragh’s  0-6. In the second half Glenelly had a range of scorers with Conal Mc Cullagh’s long range effort squeezing over the bar and also Joe McCullagh contributed to his sides four point victory. Cahal Nicholas also registered another point with Seamus Harkin kicking over the last two for Glenelly to leave them 1-8 to 0-7 winners.
