Tyrone County Board are on the search for new talent, this time its not players but the person in black. Yes, Tyrone County Board are looking for young budding people who wish to Referee Gaelic Football games. If you are between the ages of 14 and 17, you do not necessarily have to play football but wish to become a Referee contact Damien Bradley on 82251388 for more details. Full training will be provided by the County’s top Referees.

Tyrone will face Derry in the Ulster Senior and Minor Championship on Sunday 28th May. Glenelly have two players who are currently on the Tyrone Minor Panel, Conal McCullagh and Seamus Harkin. As this is an all ticket affair, ticket requests need to be made to Damien Bradley before Saturday 20th May at 6pm by telephoning 02882251388. All Under 16’s who wish to attend this game also need to apply. Glenelly GFC will try their best to accommodate everyone but as tickets are limited this may not be the case.

Double Delight for the Seniors as they collected four points during the weekend. On Friday evening they beat Beragh on a scoreline of 1-8 to 0-7 and on Sunday evening they beat Derrytresk by 7 points. Unfortunately the Reserves for beat on Sunday There will be two games on Sunday evening when Glenelly take on Clogher. Check www.gaa.glenelly.net for times or the bulletin.. Attention all Ladies, the final day for registration is Saturday morning at 10:30am in the clubrooms. This includes all Under 12 and Under 10 girls.

Glenelly Rockin’ By The River Festival will take place from 24th to 30th July. On Thursday 27th July Frances  Black will appear in concert at the festival. There will be a Box Office in Plumbridge on June 2nd 7pm to 9pm and also on June 3rd 1pm to 3pm.


The prestigious Glenelly Rose contest will be held on Sunday 30th July. If you are in business and wish to sponsor a contestant for this event, please telephone Dolores McAnena on 81648181 for details and an application form. Contestants must be over the age of 17. It is not necessary for the contestant to be living in the Glenelly Community. Closing date for applications will be Sunday 4th June.

More cookers are required for the Friday night event. If you have a cooker which you could lend for that night, could you please contact Gerard Murphy on 81648336.  Thanks to Monica McCormick and Bernie Kerlin for making the new flags for the pitch. Glenelly’s Rockin’ By The River Grand Draw tickets are still on sale prices only £10. With prizes over £4000 you’d be mad not to buy a ticket. Tickets are on sale from Committee members and usual local outlets. All sellers are requested to have their tickets returned by Friday 26th May from 8-8:30pm in the clubrooms.

There will be a Blind Date held in Leo McCullagh’s on Friday 26th May at 8:30pm. Admission by ticket only. Glenelly GFC would like to wish anyone in the club who currently is injured a quick recovery.
