On Friday night the Seniors crashed out of the Championship when they faced a strong Beragh team at Carrickmore. Beragh looked strong from the very start of the match but Glenelly were equal. The final score was Beragh 2-10 Glenelly 0-12.

Mens Football.

On Wednesday night the Under 21’s start for Glenelly with a trip up to Gallaby for the opening fixture which is set for 8pm. Glenelly have not entered this competition for several years so all support would be greatly appreciated.

The Seniors and Reserves will play host to Greencastle who travel to Plumbridge on Friday night for another league fixture. Throw-in times are 7:00pm and 8:15pm respectively. Last time these teams met Greencastle  got the better of Glenelly so all support for this home tie would be greatly appreciated

The Under 10’s played down in OwenRos on Saturday morning. They all had a fun day out. Thanks to OwenRoe for providing the excellent facilities and organisation of the tournament and thanks to all the parents for helping with the transport. .

Ladies Football

There is little news with the Ladies this week. Training continues as usual. Under 16 training will be starting soon so keep an eye out for that!!

Festival News

So far so good with the Festival. A lot of hard work has been put in so far by the organising Committee but the time has come when they are asking for your help. As the festival draws closer positions need to be filled to make sure that the festival runs smoothly and as successful as possible. On Monday 10th July we invite everyone regardless or there association to Glenelly GFC to the Club Rooms at the Football Pitch for a meeting to discuss positions which need filled. We would greatly appreciate if you would come along, bring a friend. As they say the more they merrier and many hands make life work.

As for the actual festival I am sure many of you have logged on to the Official Festival Website www.festival.glenelly.net for all the information regarding events, accommodation etc. 

Other Club News

On Tuesday 25th July the Sam Maguire Cup will be at the Marquee from 1-2pm.  Everyone is invited to attend to get there picture taken with the cup. We realise that there are some older people who may not be able to attend the Marquee but if they wish to contact Damien Bradley on 82251388 we will try our best to accommodate these people.
