A brilliant weekend for Glenelly football, Glenelly seniors set they trend when the beat Castlederg in Castlederg. Then on Sunday both reserves and seniors beat Derytresk.

It was coming, but the question was when? Glenelly seniors showed such passion to beat Castlederg, it was set to be a difficult tie but Glenellys will to beat then was shown. Cathal Nicholas converting Glenelly's frees. Glenelly keeper Kieran Mc Cullagh played excellent, saving shots from Matrin Keyes. He was put under pressure when Castlederg got a plenty. Overall a good promising performance by Glenelly.

Sunday seen Derytresk travel to Glenelly to try and gain 2 points but both Seniors and Reserves came out on top. Starting with the reserves, it was a powerful performance by this reserve side with Paul Mc Cullagh opening the scoring after serveal minutes. Glenelly started putting points over with ease with Raymond Mc Clouskey scoring 0-2. In the first half Glenelly were unlucky to not get a plenty after Mc Cullagh was sandwiched in the box but Johny Mc Cullagh converted a free kick into a goal. Glenelly went into half time being 2 points up.

In the second half serveal subs were taken on, Glenelly raised their game with points from Geard Conway, Paul Mc Nally, Paddy Hagan, Tony Mc Grinder, Kieran Mc Bride and a personal tally for Paul Mc Cullagh 2-1 after hitting a wonderfully placed goal.

It was all up to the Seniors now after the Reserves recording their 1st won of the season and yes the seniors stood up and showed that they could play ball. Glenelly were on top all through the 1st half showing promise with scores being built up. In the second half  Derrytresk showed signs of building up but after well converted free's from Cathal Nicholas and a point from Conal Mc Cullagh seen this not happening.

It was a good weekend for Glenelly gaining 4 vitial points.
