That's right, Tyrone Under 16's came to Glenelly on Saturday to take on Glenelly minors. This was an enjoyable game for both teams and for the spectators.
Glenelly missing some key players took on Tyrone in Plumbridge, the rain wouldn't stop drizzling which made conditions difficult for both teams. Tyrone set out from the start and gained the lead, their points coming from Joesph Mc Cracken and Ryan Woods. Glenelly responding to this with points coming from Kevin Mc Anena and Conal Mc Cullagh. A pleanty in the later stages of the first half for Tyrone was a chance to get the traveling team in lead, but keeper Paul Mc Cullagh denied half-forward Mc Cracken. Glenellys defense working well to not conceded any more before the second half.
In the second half Glenelly started out strong, Glenelly didn't seem to be taking their chances while at the other end of the field Tyrone were scoring at ease. Glenelly didn't die down and showed great character with score from Ronan O'Kane, Seamus Harkin and Fergal Lindsay kept the home side within touching distance. Tyrone then climbed back up the pitch and got a goal. Again Glenellys mental and physical strength was tested but again Glenelly rose to the challenge and secured a win over Tyrone.
Glenelly minors and the club would like to thank Tyrone Under 16's and their management for this challenge game
