Tonight seen a team performance from Glenelly ladies in the champtionship. Glenelly and Beargh traveled to GreenCastle to compete for a place in the semi-finals. Beargh a strong team had a fight on their hands from the begining for a willing Glenelly team were not to be walked over.
Many stars for Glenelly but there was an outstanding player, Neamh Lindsay had a colossal performance from this young taletent helped Glenelly on their battle. Other players which had an out-standing game were Ann and Carol Dooher, along with Lisa Mc Cullagh and Fiona Marie Kearney, it's not fair to single out any of these players as it was a very good team performace.
Glenelly 2 points down at half time lifted their game, Glenelly being the most dominant team in the second half gained a four point advantage over rivals Beargh. Kelly Mc Gaughey Glenellys keeper made some outstanding saves which protected Glenelly's victory. Beargh seemed to get back into the game in the last five minutes with 2 points from play, but Glenelly responded to this and made sure that they had a place in the semi's.
Glenelly GFC would like to thank the GreenCastle Club for the use of it's facilities
